What is Finance Management
Today we are going to clear up the age old question: What is Finance Management ?
Finance management and or financial management is the management of finances for businesses, organizations and or individuals to achieve their financial goals. There are several different methods that are focused on when you appoint a finance manager, these methods are the most common and are generally put into place by individuals and not only by businesses. Below are the most common forms of Finance Management:
- Commercial Business Finance Management
Generally within commercial businesses you will find a finance manager within the organizational structure, their job would be to ensure that the business is financially successful, ensuring that wealth is generated for the business, to ensure a steady cash flow and also oversee profitable returns on other investments keeping in mind the resources invested are also turning a profit (not all companies invest in other areas, but most larger companies tend to).
- Individual Finance Management
Personal finance management / individual finance management is the control of ones own personal finances, managing your own finances is possible and many of you are doing it right now without realizing, however it can be quite a task if you lead a busy life and this is where if in a position to do so one would then appoint a personal finance manager. Now if you are managing your own finances then there are several methods you can put into place to ensure that you budget your finances so that you are able to save money over a certain period of time (we will cover this in detail in another article).
- Public Finance Management
And lastly but not least we have public finance, this is usually for finances that relate to collective or governmental activities, this is normally controlled by administration or a finance manager appointed by the administration. The methods listed above are divided into two divisions: government finance and public economics.
